Power generation plant with exhaust stacks fitted with Axces turbine and engine noise and emission control

Power generation

Noise and emission control for gas turbines, reciprocating engines and CHP plant, engineered from intake to stack so the prime mover meets its permit and boundary limits without losing output.

Compliance from the air intake to the top of the stack.

Whether the prime mover is a heavy-duty gas turbine, an aero-derivative, or a bank of reciprocating engines, the exhaust and intake train decides whether the plant clears its emission permit and its boundary noise consent. Axces engineers the complete train: intake silencing, SCR DeNOx and oxidation catalysts, exhaust silencing, diffusers and the stack itself.

Each element is sized against your machine data, fuel and duty cycle. Flow, catalyst space velocity, insertion loss and back-pressure are modelled together, so the system meets NOx, CO and dB(A) limits while keeping back-pressure inside the turbine or engine manufacturer’s budget, output and heat rate protected.

Assemblies are fabricated to the tag list, flange standard and outage window the plant runs to, and shipped with the emission and acoustic test data the permitting authority will require at commissioning.

One engineer for intake, emissions, silencing and the stack.

Five reasons developers, OEMs and operators specify Axces for prime-mover exhaust and acoustics.

From machine data sheet to a commissioned plant.

A four-step process that keeps emission, acoustic and schedule risk off the critical path.

  1. Specify

We take your turbine or engine data, permit limits and site acoustics and define back-pressure, NOx and insertion-loss targets.

  2. Model

Flow, catalyst space velocity and attenuation are simulated across the train so the plant clears limits before fabrication.

  3. Fabricate

Assemblies and the stack are built to your tag list, flange standard and delivery week, with full traceability.

  4. Commission

We support installation and witness testing, handing over the emission and acoustic data the authority requires.

The pressures shaping power generation exhaust.

Tighter limits and a more flexible grid are changing what an exhaust and emission system has to deliver.

Tighter NOx and CO limits

IED / BREF and national permits keep lowering emission thresholds for stationary turbines and engines.

Grid flexibility

Frequent starts and load-following for balancing duty stress catalysts and silencing designed for steady base load.

Boundary noise consents

Plants near housing must hold strict boundary dB(A) limits across the whole operating range.

Outage and build windows

Speed-to-power and short outages leave little slack; systems must arrive ready, on the delivery week.
