Steel structures are rarely the headline scope, but they sit on the erection critical path and carry real liability. They govern safe access, maintainability and, for support frames, the integrity of the equipment they carry. The work is in the detail: the execution class that drives welding, traceability and NDT; the bolted-versus-welded site connections that decide erection speed; and the access, coating and documentation that make the steel arrive ready to erect.
Built To Your Specification
What decides whether steel arrives ready to erect is settled before fabrication: the execution class, the design code, the access and coating spec, and the shop-versus-site interfaces. We carry each explicitly from enquiry to handover.
We confirm the structure type and loads, the design code and edition (Eurocode 3, with EN 1993-3-2 for stack support steel), and the execution class (EXC1–EXC4) the designer has assigned from the consequence class and loading.
Engineers detail the structure and its EN ISO 14122 platforms, walkways, stairs and ladders, set the bolted-versus-welded site joints, and specify the ISO 12944 coating by corrosivity category and durability range.
Components are fabricated and CE-marked under EN 1090-1 to the assigned execution class at our own facility, under certified Factory Production Control with welding and NDT to match.
Steel is delivered within transport envelopes, match-marked and trial-fitted where needed, with the Declaration of Performance, material certificates, welding/NDT and coating records handed over.

Platforms, walkways, stairs and fixed ladders to the EN ISO 14122 series: guard-rail heights, stair geometry and ladder provisions consistent and defensible, built in rather than retrofitted.
Coatings
A coating system specified by corrosivity category (C1–CX) and durability range (galvanising, high-build paint or duplex) matched to the site environment and future re-coating access.
