Real industrial odours are usually mixtures, so the robust answer is often a staged train: a packed scrubber contacts the gas with a reagent matched to the compound family (acid for alkaline gases, alkaline or oxidative for reduced sulphur and many organics), then activated carbon or a biological stage polishes the residual down to the detection threshold. The method follows the stream: adsorption for low concentrations, oxidation for high VOC loads, biological beds for dilute, steady, biodegradable flows.
Built To Your Specification
The right method depends on what is in the exhaust, how concentrated it is and how much gas there is. Get the compound family, concentration and flow right and the shortlist usually narrows to one or two options.
We start from the compound analysis (reduced sulphur, alkaline gases or VOCs), the concentration and mass load, and the flow, temperature and humidity, plus the local odour limit and the competent authority’s expectations.
Engineers match the method (scrubbing, carbon, biofiltration or oxidation) to the stream, frequently as a staged train, with cooling, dust pre-treatment and humidity control designed in.
Scrubbers, adsorbers and the associated reagent or media systems are fabricated and quality-checked at our own facility, sized to the pressure-drop and footprint constraints of the whole exhaust.
Systems are installed and commissioned against the odour target (measured by dynamic olfactometry to EN 13725) with documentation handed over on completion.
