A multi-flue stack separates the two jobs every chimney performs. The windshield (a self-supporting steel shell) provides the structure, resisting wind and seismic actions and carrying access; the flues inside carry the gas, each an insulated duct serving one turbine train, engine bank or boiler. Because the windshield shelters them, the flues see no wind load and can be built in thin plate matched to their own gas chemistry; because the flues carry the heat, the windshield stays near ambient and is designed as a conventional steel chimney.
Built To Your Specification
The windshield stays near ambient while each flue runs hot, and the flues move relative to the shell and to each other, every start and stop. Where the supports and guides belong is the outcome of the thermal design, not a rule of thumb.
We take the number and type of units, the gas temperature, velocity and chemistry per flue across the load range, the required height, and the site’s wind and seismic climate, plus any spare flue position for future units.
Engineers size the windshield as a steel chimney to EN 1993-3-2 or CICIND, then support each flue at one level with lateral guides up the stack, clearances chosen so no flue binds in any combination of hot and cold neighbours, to EN 13084-6.
Windshield and flue sections are fabricated modularly and CE-marked under EN 1090 to the required execution class, so flues install efficiently within windshield sections during erection.
Sections are delivered match-marked, erected and handed over with the structural, welding, NDT and coating documentation, plus emission-measurement ports per flue.

Thermal
Each flue supported at one level and free to slide, with guides and clearances set so it can grow tens of millimetres against the cool windshield (and against hot or cold neighbours) without binding.
Configuration
Separate flues keep design exit velocity at part load, isolate a running unit’s gas from an idle one, allow a flue to be inspected while the plant runs, and leave a spare position for future units.

One wider, stockier windshield replaces a row of dynamically coupled slender stacks, removing the wake-buffeting and interference checks EN 1991-1-4 demands of grouped chimneys, while the windshield itself is verified for vortex excitation.
